From pixels to printing, this introductory class covers the basics for getting great photos from your digital camera. Topics include: resolution, compression, optical and digital zoom, memory cards, downloading to your home computer and options for printing.

Advanced Digital SLR Class

 

Start to take more control of your Digital SLR. This in-depth 4-hour course with a 1-hour break for lunch will show you how to master your camera’s light meter, use apertures and shutter speeds to your advantage, select the right lens for your needs, and start to explore shooting with flash. File formats, ISO, and filters will also be discussed.

Introduction to Studio Lighting

 

Discover basic lighting set ups and where to position your lights. Introduction to Flash Photography

Introduction to RAW Shooting and Workflow

 

All Digital SLR (and some higher-end point & shoot) cameras can produce RAW files. Are you using this format yet? If so, are you using it to its fullest potential? Our Raw Shooting and Workflow class will help you sort out the differences between RAW and JPEG formats, and how best to edit and organize your photos using RAW editing software. This class will focus primarily on RAW workflow with Adobe Lightroom, but other applications will be discussed.

Introduction to HDR Photography

 

High Dynamic Range (HDR) Photography is the technique of combining several different exposures into a single image, thereby overcoming the limited dynamic range present in most digital cameras. Using both completed examples and a live workflow demonstration, this class will introduce you to this technique, utilizing Photomatix Pro HDR software, but touching on other applications. Requirements: a DSLR or high-end point & shoot camera with RAW capability, basic knowledge of image processing using Adobe Photoshop, Photoshop Elements, Lightroom or Aperture. Photomatix Pro HDR Software will be demonstrated, but is not required for the class.

Introduction to Nikon Creative Lighting System (CLS)

 

Nikon's exclusive Creative Lighting System (CLS) allows Nikon photographers to control their Speedlights wirelessly from the camera, thereby opening up lighting options not possible with camera-mounted flashes. Learn how to best utilize your Nikon SB-600, SB-900 and SB-800 Speedlights, along with other Nikon flash products and accessories, to expand your photographic capabilities. Requirements: Nikon Digital SLR camera and Nikon Speedlight (SB-600, SB-800, SB-900).
